Melina B is an employee at The Arc of Midland. She makes the office much more fun, and we love seeing her each day. Melina is authoring the blog, and “spilling the tea” about all sorts of things while sharing her perspective! Follow along as Melina posts each Monday for “Mondays with Melina.”
With the Fourth of July just around the corner, Melina is thinking about fireworks, freedom, and furry friends. This week, she’s sharing all about her dog—an important part of her life who brings joy, chaos, and endless laughs. Whether it’s singing karaoke together or navigating loud summer nights, their bond reminds us that care, comfort, and connection matter - whether you’re a person or a pet. At The Arc, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and understood, especially during the moments that others might overlook. Melina’s story is a fun peek into her world and a reminder that behind every celebration, there’s a little work that goes into making sure everyone, including our four-legged friends, feels included.
Without further ado…
I have 1 dog. She is very obnoxious, she loves people and is deathly afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks. She's an Escape artist and brings in dead animals ocassionally. She sings Karoke with me. She's so talkative her favorite foods are Peanut butter and popcorn. She thinks she's a lap dog. Before her I wanted to have a pet Skunk with a 200 dollar deposit down but the city didn't approve it even if they get their glands taken out. i love her too much and she just turned 10 years old. Living her best dog years. She's very healthy. After her, I want to have chow chow . It is easter walk them, without pulling you or taking you down.
