A Routine All Her Own
Melina B is an employee at The Arc of Midland. She makes the office much more fun, and we love seeing her each day. Melina is authoring the blog, and “spilling the tea” about all sorts of things while sharing her perspective! Follow along as Melina posts each Monday for “Mondays with Melina.”
This week, Melina is talking about something that is a big part of her everyday life: her routine. Having a plan for her day helps her stay organized, feel prepared, and have time for the things that are important to her. But as Melina points out, things don't always go as planned, and that's okay too. Sometimes you just have to do what you can and try again tomorrow.
At The Arc of Midland, we see how much the little things in our everyday lives can matter. Something as simple as having a morning routine, planning out your day, or knowing what to expect can help someone feel more confident and independent. What works for one person might look completely different for someone else, and that is part of what makes each person unique. Melina’s routine is a great reminder of how important it is for everyone to find what works for them, while also giving ourselves a little grace on the days when life changes the plan.
Without further ado…
“Hi i would like to talk about my Daily routine i wake up every morning @5:am i use the restroom do my teeth with water then i get dressed opening curtains unlock the door i let my dog out cheek my phone Notifications or fitbit i check facebook for birthdays i wish everybody happy birthday i do my White board planing my day out feed her cheek my schedule whos coming in and relax until breakfast. I am time Oriented and I do not like being late or rushed or rushing while eating. Routines are very important because they are so good for getting things done. So we aren't as overwhelmed however when things happen it is ok if our routines throw us off and dont let it ruin your day next day get back to it. We can't ruin life, just get things done when you can. Sometimes life is unfair. If we have a routine it makes us feel good.
And our mental health”
