For those of you who have been trying to follow this emerging issue related to people who are eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare, please take note of the document written by the Michigan association of Mental Health boards.  This is the recommendation that they are making to the state of Michigan as Michigan begins to develop a new model of service for this population.  As always, you can check out the Arc Michigan website for the most current updates on this issue. United Way is an important partner in the work that we do. In an effort to help United Way reach the goal of raising $5,000,000 this year, we are participating in a pop can drive and a "change for change" campaign. Please bring your loose change and pop cans to our annual meeting on October 20th so that we can show the power of our membership when it is time to help out! The Arc of Midland has already begun collecting money from the people they serve during the United Way Campaign.
